Movie Reviews A Few Things Before You Start Reading:
What's the point, Alex?
These movies reviews are my pet passion. Ever since I was a child I can remember TRON on laser disc and all sorts of scary movies that my older brothers exposed me to. I still have nightmares every once and a while. My hope is that I can help catch a glimpse of some of the really great films out there and let you know about them.
What should I expect?
I try to be specific with actor performances, creative cinematography, and overall plot. Of course, I'll try not to give away too many spoilers, but if I do, I'll let you know.
What do the sections mean?
Title and Starring:
self-explanatory (hopefully)
Rating:
I'm trying to follow some industry standards. Sorry I'm not more creative. If you really need it, I can rate the movies by how many times my mother-in-law would say "inappropriate" during the film. (on second thought...that might be funny)
Prelude:
I like to explain a little about my state of mind prior to viewing a film. So many variables go into the making of a "good movie" beyond just what is on the screen. Did you have a fight with your wife on the way to the theater? You're probably going to be affected by those things in deciding whether you liked a certain film. So consider it my little caveat emptor. Just because I liked or disliked something, doesn't mean you will. In this section, you might find out why.
The Plot:
The basics with a little fun.
My Take:
My impressions about the film. What stood out, what lacked.
Points of Interest:
Usually a tidbit or two of fun trivia.
Should I Stay (Home) or Should I Go (Now):
It's my final verdict on whether a film is worth the 10 bucks a pop or if you should just wait to rent it from your local video store.
