I hope people enjoyed the VP debates as much as I did. I thought both candidates did a fine job. I laughed a lot and got mad a lot. Must see TV, since The Office wasn't on.
I just have one beef: I think my biggest struggle with voting for Obama at this point isn't his politics or what he wants to accomplish in office...it's Obama supporters, plain and simple. Let's try to have a little class. Stop it with the old man jokes, and the mocking of regional dialects. Seriously, my vote is in jeopardy because of you.
I blog for money from time to time. I made over $700 through payperpost.com. The key is pagerank and a quick browser. www.fivecritics.com is where I do most of my stuff.
So I'm probably voting for Obama, believe it or not. I think the "change" platform works and I kind of like Joe Biden as VP. Barack's speeches are great. Ok, when pressed about specific topics he "ums" and "ahs"...but seriously, I voted for GWB twice, so a few pauses to think are forgiveable.
I just needed to get this off my chest:
I love how democrats are all women's lib when it's "their girl," but get all "go back to the kitchen" when the republicans get on board with "their girl."
I'm all in favor of the best leader leading, so let Palin make her case and stop with the "she'd make a great first lady talk."
I got her on Sweetwater.com for a great price. I was wary about never playing her before I made the purchase but after playing a few models in the local guitar store (that lost the bidding war because their customer service was ass. Seriously, you're not guitar center or sam ash, your store will close if you continue to suck at meeting customer needs. It's basic 21st Century business 101.) I was convinced that this was the model for me. So I rolled the dice and....my expectations were exceeded.
She came in a sweet Taylor case, fully strung and professionally set up.
I have a contact with this company, Rob Russel, who has been taking care of little purchases like guitar strings and patch cables to picking the right mics for my studio. (I am not being paid for this, trust me.) I call him with questions about my personal studio and gear whenever I need answers. He's helped me with mic placement and suggestions for future purchases. Anything and everything.
Anyway, if you're worried about buying online, let me say that my worries are long gone.
Well, I am finally back from all my travels. It was a busy but fantastic summer. I'll return to my usual blogging levels soon, but for now, I'll leave you with this:
I was a pretty big musicphile in my early 20s (mostly emo, folk, and brit pop...but still), but switched over to watching films because it's easier to do I guess. Anyway, in the height of my musical awareness, I stumbled up "Spiritualized." I recently re-stumbled while watching the forgetable "Pineapple Express." In one of the only interesting scenes, the lead guy is pulling out his friend from a fire to the Spiritualized song "I Didn't Mean to Heart You". It's a great song. Check it out if you want your face crushed in.
